Carlos Cabrero/Playa Zicatela, Puerto Escondido, Mexico/August 1996.
" On this, my third and last trip to Puerto Escondido, we endured two weeks of relative flatness (a rarity in this region for August) before waking up one morning to see a fresh new 8-10 foot swell exploding on the sandbars. While I wasn't traveling with Carlos, he was there and was one of the surfers quick to make use of the giant waves. With the weather being overcast, I found an interesting angle from which to create a good composition with my 300mm lens, and just waited for anyone to take off on the big bombs rolling through. "
